Memhack

The first digital product built under my tenure as a Product Manager at Fluency, quickly grew to become a cornerstone of our teaching suite. After a rough start, the product is currently the most used by our students, sitting at over 4.5 rating at app stores.

The product that started Fluency's transition from a education company to an EdTech, Memhack was Fluency's answer to products such as Anki or Quizlet. The key challenge here was to bring for the first time, Fluency's products to the pocket of our students, creating something that was not only efficient as a learning tool, but a delightful experience. Despite a rocky launch, which saw our app store rating drop to 2.9, we quickly recoverd through a series of updates that ensured the product was mature enough to become one of the key factors of student satisfaction.

Today, Memhack does not have a dedicated squad, and is being prepared to be integrated into Fluency's new LMS (Academy), but still to this day, sits at over 10.000.000 cards reviewd montly, being the product most used by our students, and one of the key factors of our success. Also, the fact that early as 2020, we improved the base Spaced Repetition algorithm based on our students behavior, what gave us a competitive advantage over other third party solutions, consolidating article_page_memhack as a default solution for our students.

Memhack also was an opportunity for Fluency to build it's first tech team, a important step for a company that was growing fast and needed to scale. It was a testing ground for what would become the largest language learning EdTech in Brazil, and up to this day is used by thousands of students every day.
